Australia: Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Expansion Project
The Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal expansion project (DBCT 7X) at Hay Point created Queensland’s largest coal-export terminal, and one of the highest capacity export-coal terminals in the world.
Delivered across three phases, the $1.3-billion project included modifications and upgrades to all major inloading, stockyard and outloading terminal elements.
Aurecon Hatch, our infrastructure joint venture in Australia, provided full engineering, procurement, construction and project management services that resulted in more than a 45 percent increase in terminal capacity from 57 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 85 Mtpa.
The DBCT 7X expansion project won the 2010 Engineering Excellence Award in the category of Industrial Development and Manufacturing from Engineers Australia–Queensland. |
